Unsure If Your Child Is on Track? GreatSchools’ Milestones Videos Can Help

It can be hard to tell if your child is on track at school. What’s typical for kids her age in reading, writing and math? Does she know what she’s expected to know in first grade or fifth grade? GreatSchools, one of our founding partners, has come up with a way to help.
GreatSchools has created a series of 60 short “Milestones” videos to show parents the critical academic skills kids need for reading, math and writing for kindergarten through fifth grade. The videos are available in English and Spanish.
Each video is accompanied by worksheets, articles and activities you can use to help your child keep up or catch up. GreatSchools eventually plans to add additional videos that focus on what to do if your child doesn’t meet the milestones.
GreatSchools is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping parents get a great education for their children. Its website provides profiles of more than 200,000 Pre-K12 public, private and charter schools. The GreatSchools Ratings system helps parents compare schools based on test scores and other data. GreatSchools worked with Student Achievement Partners to develop the videos.
