Parents Education Network (PEN) was founded in 2003 by a group of parents whose children have learning and attention differences (LD/ADHD). After struggling to find information, expertise and services to help their children succeed, these parents didn’t want other families to experience the isolation and frustration they had encountered. In partnership with dedicated local educators, PEN set out to offer workshops for parents and educators to increase awareness and understanding of LD/ADHD. Over the past 10 years PEN has learned that:
- If parents and their children who learn differently are exposed to the latest learning research and apply that research to daily decisions, and
- If they connect face-to-face, share resources to meet common needs and create a community working together for student success, and
- If they collaborate with professionals who also strive to apply the latest learning research,
- Then the chances increase that children with LD/ADHD will reach their full potential and become all that they can be.
PEN recently began expanding into new communities and welcomes interest in its Affiliate Program.
