# Building your child’s life skills: A free toolkit for families

Does your child need help learning everyday skills, like following rules and daily routines? At school, many kids have plans called [IEPs](https://www.understood.org/en/articles/what-is-an-iep) to help them set goals and improve skills. This toolkit can help you create an “IEP for Home” that focuses on improving your child’s life skills.

Whether or not your child has a formal IEP at school, this toolkit can help you teach skills to help your child thrive in school and beyond. The toolkit includes tips and worksheets that are easy to share with your child’s pediatrician, teachers, and other caring adults.
