# Video: Mother and daughter take their dyslexia story to Washington

When Jocelyn was first [struggling with reading](https://www.understood.org/en/articles/child-trouble-reading), the school told her mom, April, that Jocelyn “wasn’t bright.” Luckily, April knew better.
