# Video: What to do when you and your child don’t “get” each other

Many parents and caregivers expect their children to be miniature versions of themselves. They’re usually in for a surprise. 

If your child learns and thinks differently and you don’t, you may have trouble understanding why your child struggles with things like reading or staying focused. And that may frustrate you, which then can frustrate your child. This can make for a challenging relationship.
