Smith has worked for over 20 years in public and private education and is currently an education consultant and a distance education professor.
Smith holds a B.S. in elementary and special education from Columbia College, an M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina, and a doctorate of education in education administration from Nova Southeastern University.
