Hi everyone,My son has a 504 plan for ADHD. This is the first full school year that is ending where I have spent the whole year looking at it through the NVLD lens - he received that diagnosis last summer (2016) and the school knows nothing about it (I gave them the report). We had him observed by an outside psychologist and we are currently doing another evaluation through the Healthy Brain Project (run by the Child Mind Institute, one of Understood's partners, if I understand that correctly, am I allowed to mention that research project here? )My question is, I know that schools don't "accept" NVLD as a diagnosis. So I am hoping this new eval will help us pinpoint more ways to help him, because what I really think he probably needs is an IEP - what I have working against me is "we don't do an IEP for" name your pick: age, good grades. The thing is, his grades are variable within the subject and how the questions are asked.I was on the verge of hiring an advocate or even attorney, and then finances became tighter. So if anyone has any success stories to share, I would love hearing them. Thanks!

The neat thing about advocates is most of them aren't going to just show up at a meeting and call it good.
Usually, you'll meet with them ahead of...
