National Center for Learning Disabilities
The power to hope, to learn, and to succeed.
For more than 35 years, NCLD has committed itself to empowering parents, transforming public schools, and advocating for families and children challenged by learning and attention issues. We envision a society in which every individual possesses the academic, social, and emotional skills needed to succeed in school, at work, and in life.
Each month, more than half a million parents visit LD.org for information, tips, and e-books, and to share their stories. Our community of over 80,000 Facebook fans engages in conversations with each other and us, sharing their support.
Over the past two decades, we’ve fought to improve federal legislation affecting our community. Our policy recommendations have been cited in Congress and incorporated into laws and regulations impacting millions of individuals with learning and attention issues. Our network of more than 40,000 advocates is instrumental in NCLD’s policy and advocacy initiatives.
We’re working in schools across the country to transform them into a better place for all students. Our tool- and resource-rich RTI Action Network website serves more than 75,000 educators each month.
