Kristin J. Carothers, PhD

Kristin J. Carothers, PhD, received her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical child psychology from DePaul University and her undergraduate degree from Howard University. She completed a predoctoral internship at Columbia University Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship at St. John’s University Child HELP partnership. She is devoted to the destigmatization of child and adolescent mental health problems, as well as ensuring that all children and families have access to evidence-based care. Her expertise includes school consultation and intervention, parent management training (PMT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents, and adults.

Carothers serves as media consultant and is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, American Psychological Association Division 53 Child and Adolescent Psychology, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Carothers is a clinician licensed in the states of New York and Georgia. She is in private practice at Peachtree Psychological Associates in Atlanta and is a forensic psychologist for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
