Executive Director of Behavior Change and Expertise

Sarah Greenberg, MA, MEd, is the executive director of behavior change and expertise at Understood. She’s a licensed psychotherapist, a certified leadership and career coach, and a nationally certified mental health first aid instructor.

Before joining Understood, Sarah served as a trauma counselor and program designer in resource-constrained environments from California to Malawi. She then pivoted to the technology sector, where she was the director of clinical design at BetterUp and a consultant to top health and wellness start-ups like Headspace and Lemonaid Health. Her writing has been featured in publications including Fast Company, Forbes, Business Insider, Inc., and Quartz. She’s the author of a Psychology Today column, Life’s Work, which focuses on practical guidance to help professionals, who are also humans, show up for their work and their life.

Sarah has learning and thinking differences and believes that the world needs all kinds of brains — but especially those that think a little differently — if we’re to progress as a society. She holds degrees from McGill University, the London School of Economics, California Institute of Integral Studies, and Harvard University.
