Robin Margent taught for more than 20 years in preschool, kindergarten enrichment, and public elementary school as a classroom teacher and as a reading intervention teacher in New Jersey. She has a private practice tutoring struggling readers and writers. Margent is IMSLEC-certified and CEERI-certified as an Orton–Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist.
Margent graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in sociology and began a career with New York Life Insurance Company. After leaving to raise her three sons, she ultimately decided to get her teaching certification. She taught second grade for many years before becoming the first “looping” teacher in her district, teaching the same class for both first and second grades. Margent is passionate about her work and loves helping students develop reading and writing skills, as well as working with teachers to improve their literacy teaching.
