Glen Elliott, MD, PhD

Glen Elliott is the chief psychiatrist and medical director of CHC (Children’s Health Council) in Palo Alto, California. He’s also a clinical professor at the Stanford School of Medicine and the associate training director of Stanford’s child and adolescent psychiatry residency programs.

Elliott served for 17 years as director of the Children’s Center at Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, retiring as an emeritus clinical professor. An internationally known expert in psychoactive medications, he’s the author of Medicating Young Minds: How to Know If Psychiatric Drugs Will Help or Hurt Your Child.

For more than 25 years, he has served as a board member for Camp Opportunity, a summer camp that helps foster children build self-esteem in a stress-free environment. He also directs a three-octave bell choir at his church.
