Katherine Martinelli, MA, is a freelance writer and editor whose work has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Atlantic, New York Magazine’s “The Cut,” Smithsonian, The Bump, and many others. She has covered a range of topics in her career, but her current focus and expertise is in education, parenting, and neurodiversity.

After graduating with a bachelor of arts degree from Skidmore University, magna cum laude, Martinelli went on to complete a master’s degree in international educational development from Teachers College, Columbia University. A native New Yorker, she has lived around the world. She now lives in Connecticut with her husband and two kids. A proudly neurodivergent family, they enjoy playing video games, cooking/baking, nature, traveling, reading, and gardening.
